Sanjay Behura is an Assistant Professor of Physics and an Associate Faculty of CSRC at the San Diego State University. Dr. Behura is an experimental condensed matter physicist specializing in photophysics of quantum materials. The Goal of the Behura Research Group is to train a dynamic, diverse and smart group of scientists interested in developing quantum information science and technology using quantum materials and photophysics phenomena. Specifically, our group is focused on (a) design and growth of quantum 2D materials and heterostructures and (b) photophysics characterization of quantum materials and quantum devices. Research work in our group is supported currently by National Science Foundation  and Air Force Office of Scientific Research. Dr. Behura is a co-author of 50 research articles, a co-inventor of 2 US patents and an invited speaker of 30 research talks. Before joining SDSU Physics Faculty in Fall 2022, Dr. Behura has worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, as a Postdoc at the University of Illinois Chicago, and as a Commonwealth Graduate Scholar at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The photophysics of quantum materials laboratory is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow. We are looking for candidates interested in design, growth, and characterization of 2D materials and van der Waals heterostructures for building integrated quantum photonic circuits. Interested candidates should send the application materials (all-in-one PDF document) to Prof. Sanjay Behura (sbehura@sdsu.edu): cover letter describing past research experience and future research interests, CV, and contact information of two references.
