The Photophysics of Quantum Materials Lab studies how defects, moiré potentials, and optical environments reshape the behavior of atomically thin quantum materials. By integrating solid-state quantum emitters, transition-metal dichalcogenide heterostructures, and correlation-sensitive optical probes, we aim to create hybrid van der Waals platforms in which new excitonic and spin-photonic phenomena can be discovered, controlled, and understood at a fundamental level. Our research is supported by the National Science Foundation, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the Air Force Research Laboratory, and the Shackelford Faculty Research Startup Fund.
